I can hear the mountains calling me…
Can you hear that? The Mountains are beckoning and they won’t shut up! Every November I start getting the itch to make it out to the Mountains to get a ski trip in. There is very few things that I love as much as snow skiing, especially in the Rocky Mountains! I have a great friend from Kentucky named Brandon Embry that is a great ski buddy…mainly because he is a little bit insane and will bomb the mountain with me. I wanted to show you one of the funniest moments last year. Tim Price joined us and the 3 of us went to Salt Lake City Utah for the best ski trip of my life. In this clip, he was flying and decided to hit a little jump, but his skis stuck in the snow and his head planted in the snow. It was hilarious! I’m just glad he wasn’t hurt…it could have been ugly. Snow skiing is one of my all time favorite sports and I am starting to get the itch…I’m planning a trip to Keystone this February…and I am fired up!
What is your favorite sport or passtime??
Favorite sport would have to be baseball. I love to play ball.
I played for 16 yrs…so I burnt out on playing it, but I enjoy watching it!
OK, please don’t burn me at the stake, I’ve never skied, and can’t even decide if It looks like fun or not. I’m kind of a ‘hot & humid’ person (I didn’t find the height of Tenessee summer unpleasant!) so the thought of all that cold is a concern to me. I grew up in Scotland though and a lot of my friends skied every weekend during ski season so I guess there’s hope for me yet.

The thing I love about snow skiing is not only the scenery, but it is a chance to blaze a mountain and do reckless things that could really hurt you! Like I did in the video. That is when you see the hand of God at work. He watches out for us in spite of our stupidity. I like to think of it as showcasing the adventurous side of God in us!! It has to make Him laugh. I do….really hard!! Isn’t that right Blake?
Brandon…you brilliantly stated that! God showcasing the adventurous side of himself…I love that!! I love skiing with you more than anyone on the planet for that reason!! We do laugh a ton when we are together on the mountain…that is for sure!!

Just watched this video….LOVE skiing in Salt Lake!! Were you at Alta?! That’s my favorite place on earth!!! Mike, my husband, and I are going skiing in March…..we use to go twice a year…..wish I lived out west!
I’ve had a similar fall but on my butt……night skiing…..couldn’t tell I was headed for a jump…..not a nice landing.
