Midnight in the backwoods of Maryland and God winked at me.
I had finished speaking my final sermon and then went over to a good friends house. We ended up talking till midnight. It was one of the best days of my life. God moved in a powerful way through me and in me. I was on my way home and just praying and thanking Him for such an amazing experience. I decided that I really needed gas in a bad way, so I went to fill up before I went to bed. I passed Citgo and went down a hill to turn around and right as I was turning-I ran out of gas. Now, it was pitch black outside, I was driving a black car, we were on a curve, a car was flying around the corner, and there I was…my car was sitting perpendicular in the middle of the road. I jumped out of the car and tried to run for the curb because I knew he was going to smash into my rental car. Luckily he missed, so I slammed it in neutral and tried to start pushing but it was to no avail. Out of nowhere there was a guy who started pushing the back of my car to get it out of the road. He then ran over to his car and pulled out a gallon of gas…what?? I was bewildered and it happened so fast, that I didn’t even know what had just happened. Who carries gas in there car? It was 1230 in the backwoods of Maryland…and there he was…a messenger from God. I think that God had the entire thing planned and was waiting with anticipation for that to happen. I drove away and started crying to know that God loved me that much. It was as if He was looking down from heaven and winked at me!
Tell me about your experiences with the Divine…have you ever felt like you were just with an angel?
Had almost the exact same thinghappen to me right there in Edmond
Blaker—wonderful story. But Honey, the question—-Who carries gas
in there car? Should read: Who carries gas in their car? Use the RIGHT
pronoun when writing on the internet. Okay? Now read the one I sent
you that is similar. Sure makes you feel loved doesn’t it? Love you, Mom
Two things….One, I miss you. Two, I miss Maryland…ok…that is all.
blakeeeeee
we missssss youuuuuu
we should talk soon!
Blake,
Wow…I don’t think my google reader is working properly because I found this by actually going to your blog. What an inspirational story and a true testament of how God works in mysterious ways.

Blake, my mom has the exact same story pretty much. It was at night…the incredible thing is that after the guy poured the gas in her car he just kind of disappeared. He had pulled up in a car, but left without one. I think God had the angel pull up in a car so my mom would feel a little more comforted and then had him leave without one to show my mom that it was Him who provided her help. (By the way, the car disappeared to…it just wasn’t there anymore.)
God is good, all the time. And all the time, God is good. Amazing. Refreshing. Brilliant. There. He’s always there watching.
